If you'll pardon the immodest first post, I think I've got a great idea for a site that - if all goes to plan - should make a decent few quid. Thing is, I've launched sites before but this one is far beyond my scope, programming/devlelopment/graphics wise.

Where should I go from here? Bear in mind that my funds are sadly fairly limited - and I'd like to keep as much as possible for marketing.

a. seek out some indian developers. Anyone know a reliable firm?
b. seek out some irish developers who would work for equity share? If so, how do I protect my idea? Are NDAs worth the paper they are written on?
c. head straight for dragon's den? Think they would need a demo tho.

Any thoughts?

you reckon? I've used loads of reliable lads who've done small jobs but obviously different story with bigger development.

Say the site is in php. A proper programmer will use sane includes and probably comment the code or use a semantic naming schema for functions etc., so that when you need to change it in 6 months time you don't go mad
From what I've heard from more than one source the Indian programmers won't do that unless you explicitly ask them to ie. if it's not explicitly requested it won't get done

On the plus side they cost a lot less, but you might get better quality work if you tried Eastern Europe

Cheers, that's a good point. I should have included Eastern Europe in my question really. I know some people who have got great work done in Poland.

"Indian" sounds a bit too much. I would use eastern ....

Anyhow I did used them myself but only for small projects, something i could sort it out at a later stage and didn't include too many files (1-5).
As I said before most of their jobs are done using free programs and usually very hard to implement into an existing website.

Any recommendations on a good developer who could do a good "web 2.0" type app at a good price?
