| I have a website that's changing domain name, and I'm wondering what is the best way to go about it, particularly for SEO purposes. I was thinking of using .htaccess rewrite rule. Any thoughts?

| Last 301 redirect I did I used php. The pages were already php and I wanted to redirect each individaul page to transfer any seo benefit. I chose php method because I am more familiar with it than writing complex rules in .htaccess but as far as I know both ways can be used to achieve the same results. |

| Yes as stated ensure you use a 301 header redirect. Ideally all old pages (that are of high value to you) should redirect to their new location. http:// www domain1 .com /mypage.html should 301 redirect to http:// www domain2 .com/mypage.html |

| Thanks for the responses
