Advertising Costs

Hi Lads,

Just wondering what peoples opinions were on how much to charge for add space. Is there an irish breakdown?

E.G. For one of my sites Broadband in Galway advertising for the likes of Eircom or Vodafone would be very valuable since most people coming to the site are looking for only one thing??

What are peoples opinions and advice on this?

Hi Gary,
it all depends on the traffic to your site. Post the figures.

Although Adsense and the like take the hassle out of the process and target ads (generally). You would be better going direct to a companies advertising agency, (going direct to Voda or Eircom will get you nowhere but customer services) and pitching the benefit of your site direct.

Several of the ISPs are offering affiliate programs via TradeDoubler and other networks, so it might be worth your while to check those out.

Unless you have a LOT of traffic you probably won't be able to get any of the really big companies to advertise directly, but you might be able to get some of the smaller local ones
