I started a site a few months ago and didn't want to spend money on advertising, so I decided to use an irish banner exchange but I only found one and it wasnt working at the time so I decided to make my own and hope for the best.

Well I guess the 2:1 banner ratio is only generous if the affiliate sites have more target-specific traffic than yours does. It could be argued that 33% of the advertising revenue goes straight into your pocket. Although we don't know that for sure. What pedigree of sites are we talking about here?

I have also seen their spam sent to a company email address.

Yet another e-mail to a search engine spider address - looks like it was scraped. Though the whole opt-out thing could be on very thin ice legally especially if personal e-mail addresses were hit. Spamming Irish e-mail addresses was a very stupid move and it appears that Letshost has pulled the site.
