The site is just so dead. Even if you got over the problems holding back SEO, the bounce rate would have to be higher than need be. Why is it so blue - this was most likely the client, corporate types and consultants love blue - but still someone who understands how people use sites and what sites can do to keep and engage people could still have done a better job.

It's so generic. It just looks like a spammy-affiliate-adsense-no-content site - even if the site really has original content and the owner is really good at what he does, this site just does nothing for me.

I'd say in India he paid $600 - and if he paid a cent more he was ripped off. Mind you, I think he was anywy.

If he went direct to Elance or used and Irish developer directly as opposed to an Irish business who out sourced it to someone else, he'd have a much better, more up to date website.

It looks like an off the shelf website from 5 years ago. Fine if your going to pay $300, but for e1500.....different story.

I'd say he's happy though and we only learn through trial and error.
