Divs in Wordpress

Is there anyway to stop wordpress removing DIV tags in a post ? This is driving me crazy Sort of a new parse command. I want to put some HTML in a box for people to copy, but wordpress isn't liking this.

inside the folder: "wp-includes" there is a file: "functions-formatting.php" where you will find a function: "wpautop($pee, $br = 1){"

try removing all the "div" tags from there and see if it works.

thanks louie. I just disabled the WUSIWYG interface at the moment. But thanks for the tip.
