    Were you formally trained?

Did you teach yourself from a book?

or did you simply muddle along by youself?

I read a book and learned basic on the BBC Micro, then on a PC, then C, then a few years after Java, perl, various Dreadful Web Languages (PHP, ASP et al), and I'm now teaching myself LISP.

From books or th'internet in all cases.

lots of time spend in front of the computer.
Also books - lots of books.
went to a FAS course but when I started i realised I knew a lot more than what he was teaching us.

In this business the good think is you will never run out of things to learn and i love the challenge.
