Do you use open source software?

due to low finances I have to use it, that said some can be better than the normal type due to less emphasis on profit

Which ones do you find better and than what ?

Most of the software I use is open source. OpenOffice.org, MAMP setup, Eclipse, firefox, Gimp and thunderbird to name but a few. All match if not better their rivals with the exception of Gimp (on a mac). I find it slow, clunky and unstable and I think that Photoshop is far far better, even if it costs a bomb.

yes i do

Indeed i do use open source, linux mint for pleasure! open Office! I also use windows, its unavoidable. Not a mac fan.

I use open source but not exclusively. Some useful stuff out there though, DOTNETNUKE would be one of my favourites
