I have checked their site to see if it might have been hacked but to be honest it looks pretty much like they published this themselves. The link to that page is in the footer all over their site.

Blog post already done :D

If anyone cares to promote the post we can watch how this plays out.

[edit] how long does the recent blog take to update Michele?

link to blog post Search Engine Optimisation Ireland .:. Red Cardinal » YourCar.ie ‘Silly Stuff’ - More Like ‘Incredibly Offensive Stuff’

I have looked into that myself, but the first time I came acrross the site, some images were missing, then minutes later - ooops - they are back.

Some of them are funny, but some of them - honestly - made me sick (i mean it).
It turned my stomach upside down for some reason, and taking kids cartoons into something so horible - that's brainless.

Louie - most of the content was amusing on some level, but it's wholly unsuitable for a public website.

I get that type of emails from some of my friends and being honest some of them are amusing indeed, some are sick, but I delete them and I am over with, but as you said VERY unsuitable for a PUBLIC website.

Luas - 2006
I put my €0.02 in New Luas website - the muppetry continues in the commuting forum on boards (see below)
me said:
I presume a lot of money was handed over to the design company for this.
The homepage's code does not validate [see here...]. however, given that the designers homepage doesn't validate, I shouln't be surprised. However, the fact that they state in their Accessibility Statement that all pages validate etc is incorrect.
Im not sure why but the 'standard fare' link under the 'custtomer care' drop down brings you to a page which tells me that the standard fare will soon be payable online. What about other fares? Shouldn't this link be under the 'Tickets & Fares' link? There is an FAQ here which is also under FAQs (why have a search FAQs tool?).
There are several grammatical errors throughout (e.g. i instead of I).
The developers seem unsure of what an email address should look like - luascustomercare.ie.
As for the language drop down - why not just list all available languages there?

re: Luas.

I'm terribly disappointed, as I consider Luas to be one of the truly great public transport systems in Europe.

This website is designed to make your journey on Luas a pleasant one. The site is designed to be fully accessible to everyone and easy to use.

You will find on the website answers to the most commonly asked questions from routes and frequencies, the ticket that best suits your travel needs, safety guidelines to information on some of Dublin’s best known tourist attractions.

Also, I'm dubious about sites that have to explain to me what the site is about. Shouldn't it be obvious, or more precisely shouldn't it be about what people want it to be about (if you get what I mean)?

I actually contacted CIE about this. I told them I was doing a report and would like to get in touch with who designed the site.

They replied saying that the site is currently being redesigned as a result of feedback over the past few months.

Looking forward to the new face.

I agree. I was simply trying to find out what company got the tender and duplicate what they are doing to get the business (Except do it right).

I particularly like the way the menu images have been prostituted and stretched out to use for those "Buy your tickets online" and "Bus Eireann News" boxes, just priceless.
